The Cosplay Royale is judged on quality and stage presence.
Exhibition: This category is for entrants that did not make their own costume or made less than 50%.
Beginner Craftsmanship: This category is for entrants that have never won a costume award before or have been making costumes for a few years or less.
Intermediate Craftsmanship: This category is for entrants that may have won a few awards before, have won an award equivalent to “Best Beginner”, or have been making costumes for a few years or more.
Master Craftsmanship: This category is for entrants that have won several awards, have won an award equivalent to “Best Intermediate”, or have been making costumes for many years.
The Judges may bump you up a class if they feel you qualify for a higher award.
Best in Show: Awarded to the top craftsmanship entry that also demonstrates a solid stage presence.

Audience Choice: Awarded to entrant with the biggest audience reaction between both Craftsmanship and Exhibition entrants
Best Performance: Awarded to an entrant that presents an outstanding walk-on between both Craftsmanship and Exhibition entrants.
Best in Show will receive a trophy, a cash prize, and a free pass for next year’s Cosplacon.
Best Master, Intermediate, Beginner, Audience Choice, and Performance will receive a trophy and free pass for next year’s Cosplacon.
Each judge will be awarding a “Judge’s Choice” award for their favorite entry that did not make it into the above list of awards. These winners will receive an award certificate.
Anyone may enter this Cosplay event regardless of whether you made your costume or not, though Contestants need to make 50% of their own costume or more to qualify for the craftsmanship categories and online pre-enrollment.
Entrants age 13 and under must have their parent's permission to enroll and MUST be accompanied by a legal guardian or relative of age at the show.
