The Japan Exchange and Teaching Program

Learn about the oldest and largest exchange program to Japan, the Japan Exchange and Teaching (JET) Program! JET Program participants are placed in cities, towns, and villages throughout Japan and serve as cultural ambassadors of the United States. Most JETs work as Assistant Language Teachers (ALTs) and co-teach with Japanese English teachers in elementary, junior high, and high schools, allowing them a fascinating firsthand glimpse into Japan and Japanese school life. Meet JET alumni, and bring any questions you have about the program or Japanese language or culture. 

Inside Japan: From High Schools to Anime School

Ever wonder what Japanese high schools are like? Or what it's like to be an anime school student? In this presentation you can get a glimpse of what school life is like, from the variety of high schools that students take entrance exams for, to Yoyogi Animation Gakuin in Tokyo, which has a high school and college level programs for manga drawing, animation, voice acting, sculpture design, and more! Time will be given to discuss short term and long term study options in Japan for high school and college aged students, and how to host a Japanese exchange student in the USA!
